About Lesley Ames

I'm Lesley Ames — a psychic medium, animal communicator, and photographer with a lifelong devotion to the unseen: the quiet intelligence of nature, the emotional depth of animals, and the energies that connect us to each other and to spirit.

My two practices have always been more intertwined than they appear. Photography taught me to slow down, to notice light and shadow, to sense what a moment holds before I press the shutter. Over time, that same attentiveness became the foundation of my intuitive work — learning to read the subtle energies in people, animals, and the living world around us.

Nature is where I return to listen. Time spent in the prairie, among botanical forms, or simply outdoors has become an essential part of my healing practice — and it quietly shapes everything I do. I've come to trust nature as a guide, a mirror, and a source of intuitive clarity. That relationship informs my readings, deepens my animal communication work, and lives at the heart of my photography.

As a psychic medium, I help people find clarity, navigate transitions, and connect with those they've lost. My readings are grounded, compassionate, and deeply personal — I bring through what is most needed, whether that's practical insight, energetic awareness, or messages from spirit.

Animal communication is work I hold close to my heart. My dog Stanley reshaped everything — his joyful, wise presence taught me how to truly listen to animals, not just observe them. I trained extensively with Penelope Smith, a pioneer in interspecies communication, and that foundation lives in everything I do. I now help people deepen their bond with their companions, navigate behavioral or emotional challenges, and connect with beloved pets who have passed.

My photography is rooted in that same language of presence and attunement. I've traveled across nearly 40 countries and 29 U.S. states, and what moves me most is the living spirit of wild and natural places — the native plant life of the prairie, the unexpected beauty of a bog, a wildflower in transformation. My images are a meditation on resonance and the subtle energies of the natural world.

Now based in Seattle with roots in Chicago, I work with clients privately for intuitive readings and animal communication sessions. My photography is available for commissions, gallery exhibitions, and fine art collections.
