Artist Bio

Lesley Ames is a photographer, artist, and explorer with a soulful way of seeing. Her work captures the essence of being—whether in the playful spirit of the family pet, the shifting light in nature and the prairie, or the genuine authenticity of the human experience.

Photography has been a lifelong thread in her story, beginning in her grandfather’s darkroom and unfolding across nearly 40 countries, 29 U.S. states, and countless remote landscapes. Her images serve as a meditation on connection and the deep presence that the sentient world brings into our lives.

Lesley’s journey into fine art pet portraiture was deeply influenced by her dog, Stanley, whose wise and joyful spirit reshaped how she sees and photographs animals. Inspired by their bond, her portraits honor dogs as soulful beings. Whether capturing a cherished companion in motion or at rest, her work is designed to bring joy, beauty, and spirit into any home.

In addition to her fine art pet portraits, Lesley’s nature projects delve into the botanical world of the Midwest prairie, capturing the raw beauty of plants and the vibrant spirit of the American heartland—a testament to her deep connection with nature, its ever-changing rhythms, and a desire to bring more nature as art into our homes.

Lesley’s creative journey is deeply rooted in a natural curiosity for the energy that surrounds us. As a psychic medium and animal communicator, she offers sessions for both humans and pets that foster clarity, healing, and connection. Her intuitive readings beautifully complement her artistic practice, revealing the emotional and spiritual layers beneath her subjects. Through both imagery and insight, Lesley creates a space for understanding, transformation, and soulful resonance. To learn more, visit LesleyPsychic.com.
