Chicago Pet Photographer Creating Heartfelt, Timeless Portraits of Dogs and Pets

Celebrate the animals who shape your life with soulful, personalized pet photography in Chicago.

My relaxed, professional dog and pet portrait sessions are designed to create beautiful, lasting memories that reflect your pet’s true personality and your home’s unique style.

As a Chicago pet photographer, I’ve worked with families and their beloved animals to craft meaningful keepsakes and fine art pieces meant to be treasured for generations. Each session is rooted in care, presence, and respect for your pet’s individual nature.

Over the years, I’ve learned that capturing an animal’s essence takes more than a camera — it takes intuition, connection, and patience.

I’m not accepting new dog photography clients at this time. My focus is currently on nature and intuitive work, including animal communication sessions. Learn more here.

How does it work?

Let’s Begin the Journey

Every great pet portrait begins with a thoughtful conversation. In my photography practice, I start with a phone consultation to walk through the process, help you prepare your dog or pet, and explore how to reflect their unique personality — and your home’s aesthetic — in timeless images.

A Calm, Intuitive Approach

Each session unfolds organically, with space for play, connection, and quiet moments. Whether a dog is energetic or reserved, my approach is calm, patient, and intuitive — always guided by the animal’s comfort and needs. Time, flexibility, and trust are essential. Great portraits can’t be rushed.

From Images to Heirlooms

After each session, I curate images with care, helping clients select photographs that best tell their pet’s story. Finished artwork ranges from statement wall portraits to intimate keepsake collections, all crafted with archival materials designed to last a lifetime and beyond.

Beyond the Lens: Intuition & Animal Communication

While photography remains an important foundation of my work, my current focus is on intuitive animal communication and psychic work. I support people in deepening their relationships with their animal companions through insight, guidance, and compassionate listening.

Why did Stan’s Photo become Lesley Ames?

Stan’s Photo was named after my dog, Stanley, who deeply influenced both my life and my work. As my photography and intuitive work evolved, I chose to bring everything together under my own name, Lesley Ames. While the name has changed, the heart of the work — presence, care, and deep respect for animals — remains the same.

A Note on Availability: I’m not currently accepting new dog photography clients. This page reflects the heart and approach of my pet portrait work, which continues to inform everything I do.
